NEWS ABOUT the 2016-2017 School Year
Student Loan websites in most provinces should open for the 2016-2017 school year on May 1st. Please check the Canada Student Loan Application page for your home province often so you can submit your loan application as early as possible.
Students with a documented disability and who are eligible for a Canada Student Loan may be eligible for a Bursary and a Grant
BURSARY FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES (BSWD)
CANADA STUDENT GRANT FOR SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT FOR PERSONS WITH PERMANENT DISABILITIES (CSG-PDSE)
GENERAL INFORMATION about these two financial support programmes is posted below (copied from the Ontario Student Assistance Website). This information applies in all provinces, with some exceptions made for student residents of Alberta and Nova Scotia.
1. Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD)
A Bursary of $2,000 that eligible students receive every year that they are registered in post-secondary studies
2. Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Persons with Permanent Disabilities (CSG-PDSE)
A Grant of up to $8,000 for which eligible students can apply for every year enrolled in post-secondary studies. This Grant can be used to pay for Goods and Services that have been recommended for a student in medical documentation
