Co-operative Education is the best and most recognized way for students of many disciplines to graduate with relevant work experience and avoid the no-job-no-experience cycle. StFX Co-operative Education Program is available for students in the following disciplines: Biology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Human Nutrition, and Information Systems.

Business and Information Systems co-op programs are accredited by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education. Biology, Human Nutrition, and Computer Science programs follow the same guidelines as our accredited programs.

  • Earn $15-25 per hour, minimum 35 hrs/wkfor a total of 12 to 16 months

Basic Process

  • Apply to the program. The Co-op Staff will review your application and notify of your acceptance into the program.
  • Attend all required professional development seminars. Though completing the courses, students will learn relevant topics focused on expanding your knowledge of the work world and being successful on the job.
  • Complete a total of 12-16 months of work experience. Work term sequencing is 3-4 months or one 12-month block.
  • Return to StFX to complete your final term and Co-op 405.
