Current MEd Students

The St.FX MEd Programs are divided up into umbrella options for how courses are taken. Cohorts is an option where groups of students take classes based on geographic location in their given program along side others taking the same program. The second option is to be a Non-Cohorts student. These individuals have the opportunity to select a broader range of electives and take classes based on their own schedule.

Cohorts
In partnership with various Nova Scotia school boards, the StFX Faculty of Education offers Master of Education cohorts in program areas of identified need as requested by the specific Board. These cohorts provide groups of its teachers with opportunities to pursue learning together as they build their capacity to provide leadership for the improvement of education within their school board. Participants are enrolled as part-time candidates. The program content is course-based and determined in partnership between StfX and the requesting s school board. For further information please call the Program Office at (902) 867-3906

Non-Cohorts
Those Degree Candidates are those candidates from either within or outside of Nova Scotia who wish to pursue a Masters degree. In addition to enrolling in the required courses of the selected program of study, such candidates can register in a variety of elective courses. Participants can be enrolled part-time or fulltime and can select any of the three options of study (course-based, project, or thesis).
