Teacher Certification in Canada is a Provincial responsibility. Please note that it is necessary for education graduates to obtain teacher certification for Nova Scotia prior to applying for certification in other provinces. Department Of Education Links

1. What is the timeline for certification?

The certification process begins in early October with a workshop on forms and procedures. The first deadline for submission of forms is the end of October. Applications go to the Department of Education in early January and licenses are normally issued at Convocation in May.
