Local Resources and Services available/ LGBTQ
Do you have some questions you want to ask? Do you have some concerns? Are you concerned by someone you know who does not receive proper support from school and family and who is maybe struggling with suicidal thoughts?
Do you need help or counseling or know people that need help?
At your High School:
At your High School contact your Youth Health Center. These services should be available during the school year.
In the Community:
There is also the Men’s Health Centre: open to all men and boys 12years and older for individual and family support (for drop-in or appointment (recommended).
Hours: Every Tuesday from 9 am - 4 pm. Located at 195 Main Street, Antigonish (in the Family Services location).
There is also the youth group Rainbow Warriors in Antigonish. (click Rainbow Warriors to go to their Facebook group page)
The Youth Project is provincial organization dedicated to providing support and services to youth, 25 and under, around issues of sexual orientation and gender identity.(902-429-5429). This group provides a variety of programs and services including support groups, referrals, supportive counselling, a resource library, educational workshops, social activities, and a food bank.
