Study Room Policies

  • All patrons in good standing are able to book study rooms. Visit the Access Services desk located across from the main entrance of the library to create or update your account.
  • Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance.
  • Our system only allows bookings to be made in 1 hour increments.
  • Patrons can have a maximum of 6 bookings on their account at any one time.
  • Patrons must present their valid StFX ID, library card or Novanet card to obtain their room key.
  • Fines will be applied for keys returned past the due time.
  • Bookings commence on the hour and end at 5 minutes to the hour. The rooms should be clear and keys returned prior to the start of the next booking.
  • The library shut down procedures commence 15 minutes prior to the posted closing time.  Patrons with a room booking in the final slot of the day should begin to clear the rooms upon hearing the notification bell.
  • Bookings will be held until 20 past the hour, after which they will be deleted, without penalty, if there are other patrons waiting for a room.
  • Patrons are responsible for reporting and damages observed in the room to Access Services staff immediately.
