The Canadian Nursing Student’s Association (CNSA) is the voice for nursing students in Canada. For over 30 years, the CNSA has represented the interests of nursing students to federal and provincial governments and other nursing organizations. The CNSA has over 10,000 members, and is an affiliate member of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA). The CNSA has a close working relationship with Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN).

St. FX is a chapter of CNSA and all nursing students at X are members.

The CNSA has its own website www.cnsa.ca with information on awards, conferences, and other nursing related topics as well as discussion forums for nursing student’s to communicate with each other from across the country.

The main functions of the CNSA include the awards it offers members and the annual regional and national conferences. Conferences expose students to specialty areas of nursing, changing nursing philosophies, future employers, and more.

Interested students fundraise to attend both the Regional and National Conferences. Each year StFX is well represented by our student nurses.
