Registration - International Student Orientation (ISO), September, 2017

The purpose of this form is to assist the Office of Internationalization in preparing for your arrival at St.FX University. You must complete this form in order to book space on the transportation provided from the airport to St.FX  (August 28th and 29th only).

Please note: ISO Week is free. There is no cost to students to attend.

Q: I am attending International Student Orientation (ISO) Week , August 2017. When can I move in?

A: If you have made a deposit to confirm your residence, you may move into residence beginning on Monday, August 28th. If you are not attending ISO Week, you will be able to move in on Saturday, September 2nd. 

If you have any questions about your residence status, please contact the Residence Office

If you are living on campus and are arriving before August 28th, you must find your own accommodations for any days before August 28th. Hotel accommodations in Antigonish should be booked ahead of time.

If you are living off campus, you will not be able to stay in residence during ISO. You must make your own arrangements for move in with your off-campus landlord.


Q: If I do not take the transportation provided by St.FX on August 28th or 29th, what are some other  transportation options?

A: The following options are available for transportation from Halifax Stanfield International Airport to St.FX University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Taxis are not recommended as they cost approximately $300.

- Maritime Bus
- Shuttle 
- Car Rental (Avis, Enterprise, Budget)
- Carpool (Arrange a ride with someone you know)

Q: I want to take the free transortation on either August 28 or 29th, what if I arrive the night before it is scheduled to depart? 

If you need to stay overnight to take the provided transport on either August 28th (between 10am and 6pm) or August 29th (between 9am and11am), you will have to arrange overnight accomodations at your own cost.

Q: Where do I go when I get to campus?

St.FX- provided transportation and Maritime Bus will take you to the Bloomfield Centre on campus. Shuttles may stop at different locations. If you take a shuttle, request to be dropped off at Bloomfield Center or take a taxi. At Bloomfield Centre, you will get your ID (student identification) and, if you are living on campus, your room keys. You will then be able to settle into your room. 

The ISO Welcome Desk in Bloomfield Centre will be open from approximately 9am- 8pm on August 28th and 29th. 

Q: Can my parents/guardian accompany me to campus?

A: Yes your parents/guardians can help you settle in and attend programming, as long as you tell us they are coming. They are however, responsible for their own accommodations. We advise that you book your room early as local hotels fill up quickly, especially in the summer.

Arrival and Transportation Information

StFX is pleased to provide new international students with free transportation from the airport in Halifax to Antigonish on August 28th and 29th free of charge. Transportation times will be between 10 am and 6 pm on August 28th and at approximately 10 am on August 29th. Please book your flights with these times in mind. If you arrive after our shuttle service on both days, you may book your own transportation to StFX ( See options in FAQs above).
