How to get to the Department
St Francis Xavier University is located in beautiful Antigonish, Nova Scotia (map to StFX), right at the Trans-Canada Highway. The Department of Physics is located in the Physical Sciences Complex. This is building 30, the large building in the middle of the campus print map. Most offices of the Department are located on the ground floor on the South side of the building.

Air travel
The nearest airport is Halifax Airport, which is a 100 minute drive away from Antigonish. Maritimebus.com go to and from the airport and Halifax several times each day.

Arriving by bus
Maritimebus.com go from/to Antigonish several times per day, with direct connections to Halifax, Halifax airport, and Cape Breton. They also provide service to Moncton and Frederiction with a bus change in Truro.

Arriving by car
On the Trans-Canada Highway (104) take exit 32 North (direction Antigonish). After passing two roundabouts drive across the first traffic light and turn right at the second traffic light. Note: the highway around Antigonish has recently been reconstructed. Google Maps currently displays these changes only on the map, not on the satellite image.

From Halifax/airport: Take Highway 102 North (direction Truro). It ends in Truro at Highway 104, where you should go East (direction Cape Breton)

Parking is free on campus, but most parking lots tend to be busy. We recommend the parking lot at the Bloomfield Centre, which just East of the football field and South-East of the physics building. After you turned right at the traffic light turn right again and follow the winding road. On the image below you will arrive from the highway at the bottom-left corner. Follow the red line to arrive at the Bloomfield parking lot. The yellow line shows a pedestrian pathway to the Physical Sciences Complex, which has an entry at the end of the line. When you enter the building turn immediately left, all physics offices are on that stretch of the hallway.
