- Research applications to the CRS will be considered in the fall and spring of each academic year. There must be a quorum of at least five (5) CRS Board members to consider all research applications. Forty per cent of the quorum must not have an eligible CRS grant proposal under consideration. If all research funds are exhausted in the fall competition, there will be no spring competition.
- In the spring and fall call for research proposals, the following information will be made available to all members of the Faculty of Arts, Business and Education. A copy of the application form which will include the mandate of the CRS, the types of projects which can be funded and the criteria which are to be used in the evaluation process. All CRS decisions concerning applications for funding will be final. This is in line with UCR policy.
- As the monetary award from SSHRC is limited, the board will fund a project only once.
- In the letter informing the applicants of CRS decisions concerning their applications, the reason(s) for the decision will be clearly stated. Applicants for research funding will be informed in the event of an award, that no future applications to the CRS will be considered unless applicants submit a final report. Each year, an award recipient is required to submit an annual report. Research funds awarded in the fall of each academic year must be reported in the fall of the subsequent academic year. The same procedure applies to applicants successful in spring applications. Consistent with UCR policy, all successful applicants must submit a final report to the CRS Board upon completion of the project.
