All residences except the apartment style residences are closed over the December break. Residence closes for the academic year when exams end. All students will be notified of exact dates when they are determined.  Academic Calendar (PDF)
 
During the December break, the exterior locks will be changed for security purposes, and the heat will be lowered. Students who need to return early must request temporary accommodations from Residence Services before departure for the break. 

Students living in the apartment style residences may remain in the apartments during December break. It is required that you notify Residence Services of the dates you will be in your apartment. Please email residence@stfx.ca - please include your ID, name, phone number, apartment and bedroom number along with the dates you will be staying. 

For midterm break (reading week), residences will remain open. Morrison Hall will have restricted dining hours, but will be open for your dining needs.

Residence fees do not cover the December and summer breaks. You are required to vacate residence within 24 hours of your last exam.
