Check-In Procedures
You will be able to check into your room with the assistance of an RA/proctor. All students are required to fill in an inventory form and sign a residence contract when they check in. The purpose of the check-in form is to ensure the student is not held responsible for any defects present in the room prior to his or her occupancy. The items listed on the check-in form are entrusted to the care of the student and are not to be removed from the room. Residence staff will assist in filling out the forms.

When checking into the apartment style residences, please note that each student is assigned to a specific bedroom. You must check into this bedroom - you cannot switch bedrooms with your apartment roommates. This is considered an unauthorized room switch.

By occupying a room, you are accepting full responsibility for the care and use of the room and all its contents, as well as for any disturbances or activities therein. Any damage beyond normal wear and tear in the room will be charged to you.

April Check Out Procedures
All students must check out of residence within 24 hours after their last exam. Any students who require extensions for travel purposes must apply to Residence Services with documentation outlining their circumstances. All belongings must be removed from the room and from the storage room of the building when you leave. The room must also be left in the same state as at check-in (a cleaning charge may apply if this is not the case). Once all your personal belongings have been removed from the room, Residence Staff will inspect the room using your Inventory Check Out form. Damages and missing items will be charged to the occupant(s) of the room. A Residence Staff member MUST check you out of your room before leaving so you will not be held responsible for any damages that may occur after you leave. Failure to return your keys will result in being billed for lost keys and a lock change (see key policy for details).
