Academic Prize (Rev. F.J. Mifflen Prize in Sociology)

The Reverend F. J. Mifflen award is named after a late and former professor in the Department. “Frank,” as he was called by those of us who knew him, was a mentor for faculty as well as to students at St. Francis Xavier University. The Reverend F. J. Mifflen award is given to the top-graduating student in sociology at Spring Convocation each year.  The terms of reference for the award include a combination of a student’s thesis presentation, written thesis, performance in courses, and extra-curricular activities.
