Alcohol Awareness

Addictions Service and StFX is proud to announce a key partnership, the community outreach worker position was a pilot position created in 2009. The Brief Interventionist provides a wide range of services to students and their families who have been affected by their own or others negative involvement with substance use, problem gambling, nicotine addiction, or other problem behaviours. If you or someone you know is experiencing negative consequence from alcohol, drugs, gambling or nicotine please contact Karen Doyle to book an appointment on campus.

In particular, this position is focused on StFX students and aims to focus on the use of brief intervention tools that can help a student who is concerned about their use of alcohol or other drugs. It is equally important for the Brief Interventionist to raise awareness of and respond to the identified needs of students, through presentation and other interactive awareness activities. You may book residence, class and off campus presentations by contacting Karen Doyle.
