Centre for Applied Petroleum Sciences

Centre for Applied Petroleum Sciences

We are a group of physicists, chemists, earth scientists, biologists and other scientists working in areas of importance to the oil and gas industry. Scientists at Dalhousie University, Lakehead University, Guelph University, and other institutions are associated with us in this work. We currently have funding for the 3 research areas described below.

We intend to incorporate additional units into the Centre for Applied Petroleum Sciences as additional focused, applied research areas are identified and funded. The Centre for Applied Petroleum Sciences will be relocated to St. Francis Xavier University's new $20 million Physical Sciences Complex, the construction of which is scheduled for completion by the summer of 2004.

StFX has a wide range of research expertise in the Energy field. Profiles of many of our leading researchers can be found in the new Nova Scotia Energy Research and Development Database.
