Can I use mobile devices to access my courses in Bb Collaborate?

What is considered a mobile device? Phones or tablets (including iPads).

At Continuing & Distance Education, we recommend that you sign into Collaborate using a desktop or laptop computer.

Using a desktop or laptop computer will greatly enhance your ability to participate fully in class, especially in breakout group activities and in presentations.
In case you are wondering, here are some limitations of mobile devices:
  • Moderator privileges (including uploading of slides) are unavailable
  • Page explorer is absent (and, consequently, whiteboard page groups cannot be seen)
  • Video is not supported
  • Private chat does not work
  • Files sent through File Transfer or Multimedia Library are inaccessible
  • Moving oneself to breakout rooms is not possible
  • Whiteboard tools are unusable even in breakout rooms
  • Recordings cannot be viewed
  • Screen reader does not function
