2011 StFX physics graduate nominated for Emerging Professional Award

When Aaron Farrell graduated from StFX in May, the list of awards that went along with his first class honours physics degree was long: the Governor General’s Medal for the highest academic standing in the graduating class; the University Silver Medal for highest academic standing in a B.Sc. with major program; and a prestigious $17,500 Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship (NSERC CGS), tucked in among other prizes.

Now, just a few months into a master’s degree at McGill University, Mr. Farrell has been recognized again for both his stellar achievements and his future potential. He is a finalist for the Emerging Professional of Distinction Award, to be presented at the annual Discovery Centre Awards for Science and Technology taking place in Halifax on Nov. 17.
